Give every mover the same move description
Use the same addresses, move date, inventory, packing request, access details, specialty items, and extra stops. If one mover sees a smaller job than another, the totals will not represent the same service.
- Exact pickup and delivery locations
- Move size and meaningful inventory details
- Stairs, elevators, parking, and long carries
- Packing, materials, storage, or specialty handling
Compare the written scope
Look beyond the headline total. Identify what labor, transportation, equipment, materials, valuation, and access work are included. Ask how changes are approved and documented.
- Company identity and credential numbers
- Included and excluded services
- Arrival or delivery expectations
- Deposit, payment, cancellation, and change terms
Do not select solely by the lowest number
TxDMV cautions that the lowest price may not be the best deal and recommends shopping around, asking questions, and getting everything in writing. Clarity and verifiability belong in the comparison alongside price.
